An 18 year-old Pierre man is facing nine charges following his weekend arrest. Pierre police were contacted Sunday morning at 6:45 A-M for a report of a male suspect attempting to gain entry into a residence in the 400 block of South Taylor Avenue. Officers responded and made contact with homeowners in the surrounding neighborhood. A male suspect matching a description given was located and approached. The suspect then attempted to flee on foot. Officers then caught up with and detained 18 year-old Shandon Badwarrior. Badwarrior was found with alcoholic beverages, electronics and other items in his possession. The items were found to be taken as the investigation continued. The items were taken from homes in the 300 block of South Tyler and 1700 Block of East Humboldt. Badwarrior is accused of attempting to enter a third in the 400 Block of South Tyler. Badwarrior has been charged with two counts of first degree burglary, attempted burglary, Petty theft between 400 and one-thousand dollars, Petty theft of less than 400-dollars, obstructing an officer, possession of a controlled drug or substance and underage possession of alcohol.
