Post 8 Opens State Tournament Play Today

Wednesday, July 30, 2014
It's not how you begin but how you finish & the Post 8 baseball team hopes that statement holds true when they begin play in the State A Legion baseball tournament in Huron today.

At the beginning June, a state tournament berth seemed like an impossible feat for Pierre Post 8. After returning from North Dakota, Pierre sat 2-11 after three weeks of regular season play but head coach Matt Sisk remained optimistic & believed his team could turn their season around & they did.

Since the 2-11 start, Post 8 then went on to win 16 of their next 27 games, including two region wins that clinched the programs second consecutive state tournament appearance.

Now the task of competing & winning a state title is in front of Post 8 with SF West being the first hurdle. Sisk feels that this years state tournament is wide open for the taking compared to prior years.

Pierre Post 8 opens tournament play against SF West this afternoon with first pitch scheduled for 1PM. KCCR will have live coverage beginning today at 12:45PM.
