Aberdeen Man Arrested After Driving Into Fence

An Aberdeen man was arrested by Pierre police on last Thursday after the man crashed his car into a fence. Officers responded to the 2500 block of East Sully in Pierre around 4:45 P-M. A small wire fence was found by police to have been struck by a pickup truck that was found near unoccupied nearby. The truck is registered to 29 year-old Kyle Traversie. Once officers located Traversie he was found to have been drinking alcohol. As the investigation continued, Traversie became combative and struck and officer in the chest. Traversie was arrested for first offense D-U-I, No Valid Driver’s License and Simple Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer. Traversie was also arrested on two valid warrants, one from Brown County and the other in Davison County. Traversie was taken to the Hughes County Jail on the charges. The officer, who has not been identified, was not seriously injured. No damage estimate is available for the fence or vehicle.
