(WNAX)– The 2018 South Dakota Legislative session is now in the books. Brenda Forman, Executive Director of the South Dakota Association of Cooperatives says it was successful for agriculture. She says they were able to convince lawmakers to update the statutes impacting CO-OPs, and bring those up to speed with new technologies.
She says they received good support from legislators for ag nutrient management.
Forman says her Association was pleased at the compromise worked out on non-meandered waters that’s beneficial for both private property rights for landowners, and providing more access for sportsmen.
Forman says they were also pleased state lawmakers provided $2 million in funding to support construction of a new Precision Ag Building at SDSU.
