Animal/Vehicle Accident Injures One South Of Fort Pierre Saturday

A one vehicle accident between Lower Brule and Fort Pierre Saturday night resulted in minor injuries for the lone occupant of the vehicle.
The accident occurs Saturday evening around 11pm, near mile marker 160 on Highway 1806.
Lower Brule Police Lieutenant Yuma House says that the Native American involved in the accident hit a “animal” on the highway and received minor injuries.
The Stanley County Sherriff’s Department assisted the accident scene with traffic control and the AMR responded to the scene as well.
No further details on the accident were released due to Federal BIA laws.
