Post 8 Wins Final Two Games Of Regular Season

The Post 8 baseball team played in their final two regular season games on Saturday night in Watertown. Pierre would win both games 14-13 and 12-3.
In game one Post 8 would take an 11-1 lead going into what could have been the fifth and final inning but they gave up nine runs for Watertown to pull within one run. Post 8 would bounce back in the top of the sixth with three of their own runs to extend their lead but Watertown was not going away as they too answered with their own three runs to keep it to a one run game. No runs were scored in the seventh so Post 8 was able to hold on for the victory. Maguire Raske would start on the hill and earn the win going four innings, gave up no runs, five hits, struck out four and walked one. Colton McClemans from Watertown took the loss going one and two-thirds innings, gave up nine runs, seven hits and struck out one.
In game two Post 8 would jump out to an early lead as they would score nine runs in the first two innings. Pierre would end up winning this game with a final score of 12-3. Peyton Zabel would start and earn the win going three innings, allowed no runs, two hits and struck out two. Trey Schmidt from Watertown would go three innings, allowed 10 runs, 10 hits and struck out three. Post 8 collected 13 hits in the game Raske would hit his first home run of the season. Joe King, Spencer Sarringar and Landan Badger all had multiple hits in the game.
Post 8 ends the regular season with a 28-15 overall record. They will get their region tournament under way on Wednesday when they will travel to Mitchell to take on Mitchell in game one. Game will start at 7 pm and can be heard right here on Today’s KCCR.
