Campgrounds At Oahe Project To Open Monday

(KCCR) — The U-S Army Corps of Engineers says campgrounds they operate at the Oahe Project north of Pierre will be opening Monday. The Corps is asking those using the camping facilities to follow social distancing guidelines and abide by signs posted throughout the park. The Centers for Disease Control has posted guidance for visiting park and recreation facilities on its website. All campsites at the Oahe Project must be reserved online before arrival. Reservations by phone will continue once a call center reopens. No payments will be accepted in the campgrounds. Officials also say that the use of comfort stations is to be limited to one person per use. Playgrounds and the visitor center in Pierre will remain closed and power plant tours remain cancelled.
