Capital Guys Dominate In Nebraska; Ladies Fall To Sioux Falls

PIERRE, S.D. ( — The Oahe Capitals hit the road this past weekend to Fremont, Nebraska and struck down the Fremont Flyers by final scores of 4-2 on Saturday and 6-2 on Sunday.

Carsten Mueller would get the scoring started on Saturday with a goal at the 11:41 mark of the 1st period.  Riggs Sanchez would hit the net at the 6:36 mark in the 2nd.  In the 3rd, Spencer Wedin would put one though at the 4:10 mark and Riggs Sanchez would hit one through again at 16:15.  The Capitals would double the Flyers shots on goal, 40-20.

On Sunday, Riggs Sanchez would get the scoring started early at the 2:14 mark in the 1st. Followed by Caden Davis who would score twice in the 1st, at the 2:38 and 16:10 mark.  Davis wasn’t done as he would score again in the 2nd at 7:02, followed by Andrew Gordon at 10:04.  Sanchez would get his second goal of the day at the 13:19 mark of the 3rd. The Capitals would almost double the Flyers shots on goal again, 48-21.

Also from over the weekend the Oahe Lady Capitals would fall on the road to the Sioux Falls Lady Flyers by finals of 6-2 on Saturday and 10-0 on Sunday.

Doing the scoring for the Lady Capitals on Saturday were Amy Gilkerson and Kaitlyn Swenson both in the 2nd period.   The Lady Flyers had 40 shots on goal compared to the Lady Capitals 9, Saturday. On Sunday, Sioux Falls would tally 52 shots on goal compared to the Lady Caps 3.
