Capital University Center To Change Name To Capital City Campus

(KCCR) — With changes coming to the nursing program at Capital University Center another changes is being made at the central South Dakota satellite campus, the name. Officials are set to change the name of C-U-C to C-C-C Tuesday. Capital University Center will be known now as Capital City Campus. A partnership with Lake Area Technical Institute in Watertown will bring additional course options and classes to Pierre. L-A-T-I will be extending health-based classes to Pierre through C-C-C to focus on filling a high demand, much needed workforce deficit. Beginning this fall the L-P-N or Licensed Practical Nursing and Associate of Applied Science in Registered Nursing will be offered at the same time locally in Pierre. The programming will allow students to balance both student and family life. Lake Area Vice President Diana Stiles says the educational offerings should have positive impacts for both students and area businesses. An open house is set for Tuesday January 28th from three to eight pm with a ribbon cutting at 4:30 pm at the Campus location on East Sioux Avenue.
