Caps Sweep Weekend Roadtrip to Remain Perfect

Another two successful games for the Oahe Capitals this weekend as they beat the Mitchell Marlins 7-1 and the Aberdeen Cougars 8-1, to remain perfect in league play at 8-0.

After being held scoreless in the first period, the top line on Saturday was phenomenal as they scored all seven goals each securing four points as Elliot Leif had a hat trick and an assist while Andy Gordon and Raef Briggs both scored two goals and two assists for the Caps in the win. Isaac Polak had the only point from someone other than the top line as he picked up an assist. Carter Shulz stopped 16 shots on 17 attempts in the win.

On Sunday it was the second line for the Caps that got the job done as Keenan Howard scored two first period goals as the Caps were off and running with a 3-0 lead after one. Jaden Flor scored twice and Ashton Griese added a goal to complete the 8-1 win for Oahe moving them to 8-0. Kieran Duffy stopped 21 shots for his fourth win.

Head Coach of the Oahe Capitals, Steve Steele says coming away with two wins is the most important thing…

With how the top two lines have been, Steele believes they can play with any line in the state…

And Steele says even though they’re 8-0, the mindset doesn’t change…
