The Sully Buttes Chargers came out and blitzed a tired Mobridge Pollock boys basketball team Monday night, leading 26-2 after the first quarter, and rolled to a 70-35 win Monday night in Onida.
The Mobridge Pollock Tigers took to the court for their fifth game in eight days, and couldn’t find their rhythm until the second quarter. After that, the two teams exchanged buckets up and down the court, and when the fourth quarter came, the continuous clock was used, as per the mercy rule.
Leading the way for Sully Buttes in scoring was—once again—senior Lincoln Jordre, who ended his night early, with 18 points. Fellow low post player Jacob Howard added 14, while guard Nick Wittler finished with eleven.
For the Tigers, Braxton Albers was the lone scorer in double figures with ten points.
Sully Buttes is now 3-0 on the season, and will play December 29th at the Parkston Classic against Dakota Valley. The Mobridge Pollock Tigers now have a record of 2-3, and have yet another game before Christmas—Thursday in Sisseton.
