Chargers Finish First Half of Schedule, Go into Bye Week with a Loss

Despite improvement on both sides of the ball, the Sully Buttes Charger football team is 0-4 on the season, after a Friday night loss to Herreid Selby Area 22-8 in Herreid.

The Chargers scored first in the game, and that was in the second quarter, but couldn’t sustain any consistent offense in the second half.  And, after trailing 8-6 at the midway break, Herried Selby Area had two scoring drives in the fourth quarter to seal the Chargers fate.

Sully Buttes did not have the success they did in the first half running the ball, as HSA stacked the line to stop the run, and dared the Chargers to pass.  Sully Buttes also committed two turnovers, to none for the Wolverines.

Herreid Selby Area is now 3-1, and also goes into their bye week.  Three of the four Sully Buttes opponents in the first half of the season are ranked in the latest polls.

After the Chargers have a bye week, they open the second half against Hitchcock Tulare at home.
