Dakota Wesleyan Track and Field Athlete Allowed to Compete

Third time is the charm Dakota Wesleyan University Senior Kamberlyn Lamer as she will now be able to compete at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships, after the NAIA overturned their previous decision.

Lamer was disqualified from the heptathlon last week, because the registration email was sent to the head coach’s spam folder.

The NCC says their decision to grant DWU’s appeal was based on the best interest of Lamer and has also promoted the conference to reexamine the declaration process and how it can best support student athletes so this wouldn’t happen again.

Lamer will now compete in the heptathlon for the NAIA national championship. The NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships run Thursday through Saturday at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
