Deep Freeze On The Way For Weekend

(WNAX) — An arctic blast will drop temperatures across the region, and some could see significant snow late this week.  Lance Vandenboogart at the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls says it will be pretty cold by Sunday morning….

A Winter Storm Watch is posted for the central South Dakota Counties of Hughes, Stanley, Jones, Lyman, Sully, Potter, Hyde, Hand and Buffalo.  Winter Weather Advisories are posted for Dewey and Brule Counties.  A band of five to seven inches of snow is being forecast from the Pierre area down to near Sioux Falls.  Vandenboogart says it shouldn’t be too windy as the snow is falling..

Most of the snow should fall through the day on Friday. The artic air follows that.
