The Expedition League finished the championship series this past weekend but not before some rain kept the final game from starting on time. On Friday, Western Nebraska won in Dickinson over the Badlands Big Sticks 9-1. However, on Saturday the road team won again as Badlands knocked off the Pioneers 7-2 to force a decisive game three on Sunday.
The Big Sticks took a 5-0 lead over the Pioneers tacking on an extra run making it 6-2 and they were able to hold on and win the Expedition League Championship 6-5. The Big Sticks were able to go to Gering, Nebraska and win both games of the series on the road against the best team in the league and defending champions. The Big Sticks end with a 48-20 record on the season.
