Fans Brave Cold To Get First Look At “Last Jedi”

“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” opened at the State Theater in Pierre and theaters across the country Thursday. Some die-hard fans of the series braved curt northwest winds hours before the show to make sure they got to see the latest installment in the “Star Wars” franchise. Matthew Fickbohm and his wife Heather were first in line at four P-M, some three hours before the opening credits…

Fickbohm was ready for the mid 30 temps and mid-20 wind chills with blankets, gloves a stocking hat…and Jedi robe…

So why does one wait in line outside to see a movie on a cold December day?…

The Fickbohms and friend Justin Peschong passed the time with Trival Pursuit and encouraged friends through social media posting to join them in line, waiting for showtime.
