The Pizza Ranch in Fort Pierre is teaming with four banks in that city for the “12 Days of Pizza” The effort began three years ago in Rapid City after Rapid City native Sean Covel saw the need for an extended out-of-school food program. Covel produced the feature film “Napoleon Dynamite”. The program provides 12 families with 12 days of either a large pizza with any or all toppings or an eight-piece chicken meal from Pizza Ranch. In 2016, the idea grew from one store in Rapid City to four cities that helped 48 families. This year, 12 Days of Pizza is expected to provide over 14-thousand meals to nearly 12-hundred families across the Midwest. Eighty-five Pizza Ranches are taking part this season. This is the first year Fort Pierre’s Pizza Ranch is taking part. Assisting them with support are First National Bank, First Dakota Bank, Dakota Prairie Bank and American Bank and Trust.
