Fort Pierre Sales Taxes Trending Upward Compared To Last Year

(KCCR) — Fort Pierre is on track compared to 2018 to have a good year for sales tax revenue. Finance Officer Roxanne Heezen went over the numbers with the Fort Pierre City Council last week…

“One month in, but everything is in the right direction.  General sales tax is up about 8 and a half percent from last January and the Triple-B is 7.69-percent and occupancy tax, that I just have now, so, I’ll hand that out, is 9.7-percent up from last January.  So far everything is trending well.”
Heezen gave no indications what may have caused the increase in sales tax revenues for the first month of the year compared to last year.
