Fort Pierre Under Water Restrictions As Water Line Feeding City Being Repaired

(KCCR) — The City of Fort Pierre has enacted water use restrictions that are effective immediately and until further notice. The Bureau of Reclamation and Mni Wiconi Rural Water System are repairing a water leak on the trunk line that serves Fort Pierre and other communities along the Mni Wiconi system. Fort Pierre’s water source will come from the city’s storage water supply while the system is off line. The restrictions on water use are to conserve that water supply, including for fire protection, until the leak is repaired. City officials are requesting customers limit unnecessary water usage to conserve water including no lawn watering until the restriction is lifted. Those with questions can call the City of Fort Pierre at 223-7690.
