The Pierre Governors got Conference Championship performances from Mack Rath and Paul Adam as the Governors had a great performance at the ESD Championships.
Rath won the shot put event with a 38-02.75 which beat second place finisher, Hailey Harkin from Harrisburg who threw a 37-10.50. Rath also won the discus throw with a distance of 123 which Harkin finished behind her once again with just a 105-08. Rath continues to live up to the ranking of being one of the best shot put and discus throwers in the state.
For Adam, he finished in first and won the long jump over Matthew Mors from Yankton with a distance of 24-04.75 while Mors had 19-10.50. Adam also finished in fifth in the high jump while Pierre Lear won the event from Watertown.
Cobey Carr placed second in the triple jump behind Sam Rohlfs of Aberdeen while Jack Maher finished in second behind Sully Mack in the discus throw and also in fifth place in the shot put for the Governors.
In the girls 400 meter dash, Isabella Jackley finished in second two seconds behind Krista Bickley from Brandon Valley.
The Governors quickly get back to it as they will host an invite this afternoon, which is also senior day for the Governors who will be honored before the meet. The event kicks off at 3:30.
