Govs Wrestling Dominates In Brookings

The Pierre Govs wrestling team spent the weekend in Brookings as they had a dual on Friday night and the Brookings Invite on Saturday.

The Govs would dominate in this dual winning 62-9. The Govs won 12 matches in the dual including four pins.

Then on Saturday was the Brookings Invite, the Govs would repeat as champions of the invite. The Govs would win the team title with 239.5 team points. In second place was was Brandon Valley with 208 and in third was Mitchell with 165.

The Govs had three individual champions and four runner ups. Winning titles were William Turman at the 132 weight class, Michael Luck at the 145 and Pryce Dyk at the 285.

Runners up in the tournament were Jace Bench-Bessier at the 113 weight class, Austin Senger at the 160, Maguire Rake at the 160 and Gage Gehring at the 195.

The Govs will be back in action on Thursday as they will get the final month of their season underway in Huron starting at 7 pm.
