Guns Come Back To Keep Title As Guns ‘N Hoses Blood Drive Champs

It’s back to back for the blue as Pierre area law enforcement will hold on to the title as Champions of the 14th Annual Tyler Wilcox Guns ‘n Hoses Blood Drive that ended Wednesday…

The blood drive effort hit 400 and then some. A total of 422 units of blood was donated over the three day event. The 422 is a new all-time record, breaking the previous record of 389 by 33. The original goal was 365 which was surpassed by 57. Abbie Arneson with Vitalant Blood Services of Mitchell is again stunned by the giving effort of the Pierre and Fort Pierre area…

Arneson says in the end, it’s about the blood…

Jeri Wilcox, the mother of Tyler Wilcox, who the blood drive is named for is equally pleased with the results…

A traveling trophy will remain in the possession of the Pierre Police Department until next year’s event, however the Pierre and Fort Pierre Fire Departments want to remind everyone…who rescued the puppy.
