Hoses Lead Guns After Day 1 Of Tyler Wilcox Memorial Blood Drive

(KCCR) — The 15th annual Tyler Wilcox Memorial Guns ‘n Hoses Blood Drive began Monday with donations being taken at the Fort Pierre Fire Department. Abbie Arneson with Vitalant Blood Services says Day one was slower than they would have preferred…

“You know, we started off really strong and then we hit a lull and so I’m not sure yet; I think we’re gonna fall short of our goal for the day, but it’s really looking good for tomorrow (Tuesday) and so if people want to donate go to vitalant.org, use our app, give me a call at 999-8504; get you scheduled for tomorrow or Wednesday, but we just need people to show up.”
The three day blood drive moves to the Faith Lutheran Church for Tuesday and Wednesday…

“We are there from 11:30 am until 6:00 pm and lots of great food, just like today, tomorrow .  We’ll have Subway, Domino’s  you know, lots of things, muffins from Perkin’s, homemade cookies.  Come, eat before you come, but then stay and you can have a meal.”
The Hoses take a 67 to 41 lead into Day Two of the Tyler Wilcox Memorial Guns ‘n Hoses Blood Drive. The 108 units of blood collected are only eight short of the goal for Day one. The overall goal for the 2019 blood drive is 400 units. Last year broke a record with 420 units collected. The Guns are the defending champions, winning last year 226 to 195.
