Hughes County Commission Holds Special Meeting Friday

(KCCR) — The Hughes County Commission met for a special meeting Friday morning. The Commission held public hearings on two alcohol license requests filed by Frost Enterprises of Onida. The Commission approved both a new retail on-off sale malt beverage license and the transfer of a liquor license for Frost Enterprises. They will be doing business as Spring Creek after winning the concessionaires agreement to operate the Spring Creek Resort on Lake Oahe from the South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks. Commissioners also approved the purchase of laundry equipment for the courthouse. Hipple says stay currently takes time to use a laundromat to wash cleaning rags. Vance and Weaver were again supportive..

The vote on the laundry machine was split with Commissioners Weaver and Roger Inman voting no and Commissioners Connie Hohn and Bill Abernathy voting Yay. Vance used his vote to break the tie for approval. Commissioners also approved some minor landscaping to be done on the northeast corner of the Courthouse property.
