The Hughes County Commission will start the second to last week of 2017 with a meeting tonight. Commissioners will consider approval of the minutes from the December 4th meeting and will consider a contract with Baron in Old Business. A number of items are up for consideration in New Business. They include final consideration of a plat in the Prairie Subdivision and bridge grant applications. Also on the agenda for Hughes County Commissioners are truck bids from the Highway Department and a railroad crossing project in Harrold. Commissioners will consider surplus property and will meet in executive session for three items, Contracts, Personnel and Care of the Poor. The Commission will also consider a contract with Dan Todd and public defender contracts. The first reading of new planning and building fees will be held. Commissioners will consider a vet services agreement and a software license agreement for election software. Contingency and Budget transfers will be considered along with 2018 meeting dates and verified claims. The Commission will also hear liaison reports and a report from County Manager Kevin Hipple. The Hughes County Commission meets at 5:30 P-M tonight in the Hughes County Courthouse. The meeting will be held in the Commission Room on the second floor. The meeting is open to the public.
