KCCR is a full service" radio station. We have the most in-depth local news, sports and weather coverage in central South Dakota. We've always been known for our comprehensive local coverage and that tradition continues today.
You also get the personal touch of live radio. You get wit, wisdom and fun of live announcers throughout the day, featuring music from the 60s, 70s and 80s. Our format includes the Beatles, Billy Joel, the Eagles, Gloria Estafan, Chicago and Madonna.
KCCR has 16 daily newscasts including CBS news at the top of every hour. We also have five sportscasts along with weather updates twice an hour.
Listeners tune into Tradio. Tradio is like an on-air auction where people place items they want to sell or list merchandise they want to buy. You'll find items such as windows, wedding dresses, pets, exercise equipment, household appliances and more!
Throughout the day, there are special programs like "Ask the Mayor" every 2nd and 4th Thursday, the Pierre Chamber of Commerce report every Wednesday morning and other special programs designed to keep people fully informed on late-breaking news, weather, sports and events.
KCCR's sister station "JACK-FM" comes to you at 50,000 Watts. Now known simply as "JACK FM" our format is simply "Playing What We Want". Jack plays anything. It is very music oriented but just like KCCR, it offers local announcements, news, sports and weather throughout the day. JACK FM is very promotion oriented.
