Kienholz Picks up 1000 Assist in Loss to Brookings

The Pierre Governor volleyball team once again faced an 0-2 hole for the second straight game and nearly climbed out the deficit for the second straight game. However, it was a four set loss for the Govs to the Brookings Bobcats 25-19, 25-22, 18-25 and 28-26.

The Governors were led in kills from Ayvrie Kaiser and Raegan Wiebe who had 18 and 16 kills respectively in the loss. Because of all the kills, Miah Kienholz, who was 38 assists away from 1000 for her career picked up 42 on the night and achieved the 1000 assist mark. Kienholz says it helped to have good passing on Tuesday night…

And Kienholz says it’s great to reach the milestone of 1000 assists…

The Govs, though, fell to 5-9 on the year and for Head Coach Kacy Kienholz, she says it’s another disappointing loss…

And Kienholz wants to see a change in the mentality heading into Thursday’s match against Aberdeen Central…

The Governors will face the Golden Eagles on the road Thursday with first serve at 7:00. The next volleyball broadcast will be on Friday against Yankton with first serve at 7:00 as Jon Winkler has the call.
