(KCCR) — The South Dakota Department of Transportation will be changing the way traffic flows on Highway 14 on the north side of Pierre. The traffic pattern will change at the intersection of Garfield Avenue and Highway 14 and at U-S 14 and State Highway 1804 intersection the week of October 19th. The exact date of the change will depend largely on weather conditions. New signs and pavement markings will be changed to designate the outside lanes of travel as ‘right turn only’ at the two intersections. Traffic that is eastbound on Highway 14 will see a right-turn only lane at the intersection of southbound Garfield Avenue. Westbound traffic will see a right-turn only lane at the intersection of north Highway 1804 at the Mickelson Criminal Justice Center intersection. DOT officials say the changes will be permanent and remind the traveling public to pay attention and take notice of the changes.
