Local Elections Set For June 5th

This year, three spots are up for grabs on the Pierre City Commission. Those seats belong to Commissioners Jamie Huizenga, Jim Melhoff and Vona Johnson. The top two vote receivers will vie for the positions held by Huizenga and Melhoff. Johnson is finishing out the term of former Commissioner turned Mayor Steve Harding. Hughes County will have at least one open seat as Tom Tveit announced he would not seek re-election.
