Long Course Season Begins for Pierre Swim Team

Pierre Swim Team kicked off the 2019 long course season with meets in Sioux Falls, Brookings and Watertown. Ella Ward-Zeller competed at the 2019 SFST Ready for Long Course meet in Sioux Falls, swimming three first place finishes and three-second place. Ward-Zeller also finished the meet with five AA times and two A times.

Presley Frost competed at Watertown’s Too Cool For The Pool meet, swimming all SD State Meet Qualifying times and placing first in the girls 7-8 200 yard Individual Medley with her time of 3:47.02.

At the 2019 Brookings High Point Swim Meet, Jaycee Bauer swam a SD State Meet Qualifying time in the 50 meter backstroke with her time of 41.09. Bauer also finished the meet with fourth place finishes in the girls 11-12 division. Mason Berg also competed in the girls 11-12 division, ending the meet with a top finish of ninth place in the 50 meter breaststroke with her time of 50.67.  Layne Heasley competed in the girls 8 & under division with a top finish of 17 in the 100 meter freestyle with her time of 2:34.69. Ann Tjeerdsma’s top finish in the girls 9-10 division was in the 50 meter butterfly, finishing tenth with her time of 56.52.

In the boys 9-10 division, Brody Heasley swam to ninth place in the 100 meter breaststroke with his time of 2:31.44.

Nine athletes will compete at the 2019 Aberdeen Summer High Point Swim Meet on June 14-16.
