(KCCR) — A leadership change is taking place with the Pierre/Fort Pierre Capital Area United Way. The group has signed a contract with Maxwell Strategies of Fort Pierre to provide leadership at the organizational level for the United Way. Maxwell Strategies will work with the United Way’s board to both set and meet goals for the United Way. The partnership is the first time the Capital Area United Way has hired a company to handle its organizational priorities. Board president Dayna Hepper says working with Maxwell Strategies will provide additional resources that can benefit not only the group but the 20 non-profit partner agencies of the Capital Area United Way. Maxwell Strategies is replacing former Executive Director Ashlee Rathbun who resigned to take a job in the private sector. The Capital Area United Way marked 30 years last year. The fundraising goal last year is 621-thousand 100-dollars and is scheduled to be completed by the end of the month.
