Minnesota Man Arrested For Threatening Person With Firearm

(KCCR) — A Minnesota man is arrested Wednesday night for Aggravated Assault after an incident involving a gun. Pierre police responded to a report of a male subject in the 1600 block of North Harrison Avenue who was brandishing a firearm. Just before 10 pm a 911 call was received by Central South Dakota Dispatch by an individual who stated they had been threatened by the subject. The victim told investigating officers that he had followed the subject who was waiting outside a business in Pierre to another business. Pierre Police Captain Bryan Walz says as the two approached the second location the subject, identified by police as 55 year old Shakopee native Qi Da Huang, left his vehicle and produced a firearm. The victim then left that area and called 911. The victim’s description of Huang allowed officers to locate Huang later. Officers discovered during the investigation that Huang intended to cause serious injury to the victim. Police recovered a firearm from Huang’s vehicle. Huang was transported to the Hughes County Jail on a single charge of Aggravated Assault.
