Newspapers Impacted By Tariff Issues

The US International Trade Commission voted to overturn import tariffs on Canadian newsprint that were imposed by the US Commerce Department earlier this year.  That pushed prices up drastically for the paper used in printing newspapers.
South Dakota Newspaper Association Executive Director Dave Bordewyk says it was a big problem for small newspapers……

Bordewyk says the vote by the ITC may not be the last action..

Bordewyk says they now have to wait and see if prices do come down…

Bordewyk says papers were also dealing with rising metal prices due to the escalating trade war.
