As the campaign for governor enters its final weeks, Congresswoman Kristi Noem is outlining her education plan. Noem says one of her major areas of focus is on ensuring students have the job-skills and training needed to land high paying jobs. In addition to expanding technical education programs in the state’s high schools, Noem would also like to see those opportunities extended to middle school students…
Noem says she doesn’t believe the recent emphasis on technical education is hurting the state’s four-year institutions….
Noem says she would work with the Board of Regents to help reduce the cost of a traditional degree.
Noem says she would also like to see fewer strings attached to federal dollars that go to local school districts. She will face Democrat Billie Sutton and Libertarian Kurt Evans in November.
