On Saturday the Oahe Capitals Boys and Girls Varsity teams will host the Watertown Lakers in Pink the Rink night as both look for wins in front of the home fans.
The Capital Girls Varsity team will look for its second win of the season as the Lakers come into town. Watertown is 3-7 on the year with wins over Sioux Center, Huron and Yankton. The Lakers beat the Storm in its latest game heading into the weekend where the Caps and Lakers will play on back to back Saturdays with the Capitals traveling to Watertown next Saturday.
The Capital Boys varsity team looks to remain undefeated on the season as they host the Lakers, a team they beat back to open up the season, 7-3. Last weekend, the top line of the Capitals scored all seven goals in the win over Mitchell and the second line scored five times in the win over Aberdeen on Sunday. It’s the lone game of the weekend for the Capitals as the Caps will face Brookings next week Sunday.
It’s Pink the Rink night on Saturday as the day begins at 9:00 with the U14 girls followed by Bantam B at 11:00, Girls Varsity at 1:00, Bantam A at 3:00, JV Boys at 5:00 and the Varsity game at 7:00. 11:00 AM is Bantam B,
1:00 PM is Girls Varsity the Tri M Honor Band with be singing the National Anthem,
3:00 PM is Bantam A,
5:00 PM is JV Boys
7:00 PM Boys Varsity Mr. Jay Mickelson will be singing the National Anthem
TF Riggs Drum Line will be playing before the Varsity game
Senior Boys will be throwing out Tshirts throughout the day during period breaks
There will be baskets for the raffle drawing the drawing will be after the 1st period of Boys Varsity game
Senior Players have signed mini pink hockey sticks and will be sold throughout the day
Sucker tree with some cash and concession prizes
Several locations to donate
Proceeds will go to Countryside Hospice House located in Pierre.
