Oahe Capitals Open up Second Straight Busy Weekend in Rapid City

The Capitals started its tough stretch last weekend with a three game weekend. This weekend, things don’t get any easier as the Caps again will play three games, this time in Rapid on Friday and back home for Saturday and Sunday.

Tonight, the Capitals open up the weekend on the road in Rapid City as they look to knock off the Rushmore Thunder for the first time this year. The Caps lost both games in the Rendezvous tournament back in November but both teams are much different in the middle of February. The Thunder have lost four straight heading into tonight.

On the exact opposite side, the Sioux Center Storm come to town for a Saturday and Sunday matchup and come in touting a nine game winning streak lead by the leading goal, assist and point getter in the league with Canyon Brown. Brown has 35 goals, 25 assists for 60 points so far this season.

Head Coach of the Oahe Capitals Steve Steele says with both Rushmore and Oahe teams going through coaching changes last year, they have been refining the tools since the two played in November…

Steele says about Sioux Center, they love to score goals all stemming from Brown…

Steele says this week has been light because of the six games in 10 days…

Puck drop tonight is at 9:00 central time while Saturday’s is at 7:00 and Sunday at 2:00. All three games can be heard on Capital City Rock and capitalcityrock.com with Jon Winkler on the call.
