Offense Stifles, Trappers Fall to Big Sticks

The Pierre Trappers couldn’t find any offense on Thursday night as the Badlands Big Sticks took a 5-0 lead in the sixth inning and beat the Trappers 10-1 to open up the four game set in Pierre.

The Trappers struck out 16 times in the ballgame securing only three five hits in the game, all coming late after being down 8-0. Carter Howell picked up two of the five hits for Pierre, the only man to do so on the team. Eight of the ten players to come to the plate for the Big Sticks on Thursday recorded an RBI in the win.

Trappers manager, Tanner Neale was disappointed in the loss…

Neale says the theme right now is the offense isn’t there…

Billy Moreland and Zane Phelps returned and played in their first game on Thursday and Neale says it will be a big lift to have them back…

The Trappers and Big Sticks will play three more games this weekend with first pitch at 7:05 on Friday and Saturday and a 2:05 first pitch on Sunday.
