The Pierre Governor girls basketball held the Mitchell Kernels to just two points in the second quarter and led 18-13 at the half but the Kernels held the Governors to just three points in the fourth quarter knocking off Pierre 46-36.
Caytee Williams had the team high 11 points but was the only Governor in double figures as the Govs couldn’t find the rhythm after a strong second quarter. The team shot under 30% from the field and missed several opportunities.
For Mitchell, Macy Kempf finished with the game 13 points and grabbed a double-double with 13 rebounds. Camryn Krogman had 11 points and Avia Haley had 11.
