Pierre Governor Volleyball Starts Fast, Ends Season with Tough Loss

The Pierre Governor volleyball team had another hot start against the Huron Tigers on Thursday night but couldn’t hold on to the fire as the Govs fell in four sets, 25-23, 21-25, 12-25 and 15-25.

Josie Stevens led the team with kills for another match as she recorded 10 on the evening. Kenzie Gronlund and Emery Heiss each had six kills for the Governors. Kenzie Kuxhause was credited with the game high 35 digs on the evening.

The Governors finish the season at 8-12 on the year and will wait to see exactly who they play in the SoDak 16 but as it stands right now, the Governors will travel to Sioux Falls Roosevelt in the 5-12 matchup looking to advance to the State Tournament.
