Pierre Governors Face Brookings in Rematch of Mud Bowl for State Title

The Pierre Governors and Brookings Bobcats will face off for the second time this year and the number one and two teams in the state in Class 11AA. This time it’s for the State Championship, in Brookings at Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium, where the Bobcats play their home games.

The Governors have had one game under a 30 point win, being the Tea Area Titans and they look to continue the trend this afternoon. The Governors have already scored the state record for most points in a year across the 11-man and 9-man football and still have this game to be played.

For Head Coach Steve Steele, he knows that this Brookings team is much better at home than on the road and has delivered that message to his team…

With being at home, Steele has also seen on film the Bobcats are playing with more confident…

For this Pierre Governor team, they have a chance to be the only Pierre squad with a perfect season and state title while also being the only team in state history to win three in a row in Class 11AA. Steele says this also would be for the community…

The State Title Game kicks off the day and will begin at 12:00. You can check the game starting with the pregame show at 11:35 on Today’s KCCR and todayskccr.com with Jon Winkler and Greg Dean on the call.
