Friday night, the Pierre Governors traveled to Brookings look to avenge the home loss earlier in the season but the Bobcats on senior night were too much for the Govs as Pierre fell 70-61.
The Governors were led by Grey Zabel with 22 points on the night as the Govs shot extremely well from the free throw line in the loss going 18-22 but the Bobcats were able to answer the high percentage from the line with their 17-20 shooting from the charity stripe. Drew Cole drained 27 points for Brookings as they improved to 5-11 on the season. The Governors dropped to 4-12. Garrett Stout added 18 for Pierre.
Saturday the Governors were supposed to host Sioux Falls Lincoln, the number one team in the state, but winter weather canceled the game which was also supposed to be senior night for Jack Maher and Alec Miller. Now the Govs will finish out the regular season on the road, starting tomorrow night in Aberdeen in an ESD matchup.
