PIERRE GOVERNORS ROLL TO VICTORY TO CLOSE OUT REGULAR SEASON

 

The Pierre Governors rounded up the regular season with a big win over the Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles. The Govs were off and running with Garrett Stout returning an interception for a touchdown on the Golden Eagles opening possession of the game. The Govs added a 16 yard touchdown reception to Gage Gehring and a field goal in the first quarter to take a 16-0 lead. Stout ran in another touchdown from 33 yards out to make it a 23-0 lead at the half. In the third quarter, Brett Maher blocked a punt on the 1 yard line and Maguire Raske was able to punch it in to close out the victory 30-0. The Governors finished the regular season at 7-2 and first in the Class 11AA standings. They will take on the 8 seed Spearfish Spartans next week Thursday in Quarterfinal action.
