Pierre Governors Wrestling Battles Harrisburg at Home Dual

The Pierre Governors, who are ranked second in the Dakota Grappler rankings, will open up their first dual tonight as they host the Harrisburg Tigers. It’s the beginning of another normal wrestling season weekend as the Governors will then travel to Rapid City on Friday and Saturday for the Rapid City Invite.

The Governors are coming off a team second place finish in the Mandan Invitational last weekend while Harrisburg is already 3-1 as a team in their four duals so far this season. The Tigers knocked off Huron, Aberdeen Central and Yankton before falling to Watertown, who is the top team in the Dakota Grappler rankings.

Head Coach Shawn Lewis says he’s ready for his team to perform in front of the home fans…

Lewis hasn’t been able to see film on Harrisburg because he says it’s not as easy to swap film with teams as it can be in other sports but he’s been watching results as they come in…

And Lewis says he’s expecting to continue the home mat advantage…

The Dual begins tonight at 7:00 at Riggs High School
