Pierre Govs and Lady Govs In Yankton Saturday Night

The Pierre Lady Govs and the Govs had a double header Saturday night in Yankton.

The Lady Govs would start the night off and would lose a hard fought battle 49-36. With the lost the Lady Govs record drops to 1-3, Yankton’s record goes to 2-1.

Leading the way for the Lady Govs in scoring was Emily Mikkelsen who had 14 and Erica Stout had 11. Leading the way in scoring for the Gazelles was Maddy Hochstein who had 15. The Lady Govs will return home on Thursday night as they will host Huron at 7 pm. You can hear that game on Today’s KCCR. Brent Nathaniel will be on the call.

The boys would be the night cap and be in a battle all night long. They would take their first lead in the third quarter and not look back winning their first game of the season 45-34.

With the win the Govs improve their record to 1-2 as Yankton drops their first game of the regular season and see their record drop to 2-1.

Leading the way in scoring for the Govs was Peyton Zabel he had 19 and Jack Maher was able to add 10. Leading the way for the Bucks in scoring was Freshman Matthew Mors with 12.

The Govs will head back on the road on Thursday night for their third straight road game as they will take on Huron. Game will start at 7 pm and can be heard on Capital City Rock 104.5 FM and capitalcityrock.com.
