Pierre High School Baseball Take 3 of 4 Over The Weekend

The Pierre High School Baseball team was in action over the weekend. They were at home Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday they would welcome Brandon Valley to town then on Sunday they would take on Rapid City Stevens.

In game one on Saturday Pierre would pull off a close one winning 1-0. Peyton Zabel would get the start on the mound and the win going five innings, allowing one hit five walks and five strikeouts. Pierre only had three hits in the game.

In game two things would change offensively as Pierre would win this game 7-0. Garrett Stout would get the start and he would go six innings, allow five hits, one walk and six strikeouts. Michael Lusk, Zabel and Grey Zabel all had two hits; Pierre had 10 for the game.

In game one on Sunday Pierre just couldn’t drive the runs home as they would drop this game 3-2. Kyle Stover would get the start in game one going 3 1/3 innings striking out one, two walks, allowed three runs and two hits. Maguire Raskie would come in to pitch the rest of the game and strike out 10 batters.

In game two Pierre’s bats would come alive and Pierre would win in five innings 10-0. Grey Zabel got the start he would throw a no hitter going a complete game, struck out eight and only allowed two base runners the whole game. One was hit by a pitch and the other was an error. Pierre had seven hits in the game, two coming from Austin Hoss who had two doubles.

Pierre ends the regular season with a 12-6 regular season record. Next week they will be on the road for the regional tournament. More information will come out about all of that later this week. The Latest rankings are below.
