Pierre Man In Custody For Spitting On Police During Domestic Violence Arrest

A Pierre man was arrested early Thursday morning after his involvement in a case of domestic violence. Officers responded to a disturbance call around 12:20 AM in the area of Fourth Street and Euclid Avenue for a disturbance. Pierre Police Captain Bryan Walz says as officers arrived, one of three people involved in the incident ran away from the scene. Officers later located the subject a short time later. A police investigation determined the subject who ran was involved in a domestic assault related to the initial call to police. As officers took 19 year-old Angel Summers into custody, he spit in the face of one officer and spit in the direction of a second officer as well. Summers was transported to the Hughes County Jail on charges of Simple Assault-Domestic Violence, Obstructing an Officer, Assault by Contact with Bodily Fluids on an Officer and Underage Consumption of Alcohol.
