(KCCR) — The South Dakota Highway Patrol says a Pierre man suffered life threatening injuries after he failed to stop at a stop sign and his vehicle hit a nearby building. Department of Public Safety spokesman Tony Mangan says a 2017 Chevy Silverado pickup driven by 56 year-old Glenn Bowling of Pierre was southbound on State Highway 1806 when he failed to stop for the intersection with U-S Highway14/State Highway 34 leading west out of Fort Pierre. Bowling’s pickup crashed through highway marker signs then hit a loaded trailer full of building materials before stopping on its roof against a building at Dakota RVs of Fort Pierre. Bowling was the only person in the pick-up and the Highway Patrol is investigating whether Bowling was using a seat belt at the time. Charges are pending against Bowling. The crash happened shortly after 11:30 am Tuesday morning.
