Pierre Men Arrested On Drug Charges After Traffic Stop For Speeding

Two Pierre men got familiar with the Hughes County Jail after their arrests early Wednesday morning. A Pierre Police officer stopped a car for speeding at the intersection of Fourth Street and Governors Drive just before 1:30 A-M. The officer saw an open alcoholic beverage container in the car and smelled marijuana. As the investigation continued, officers located drugs and drug paraphernalia. The vehicle’s driver, 26 year-old Alexander Week was charged with speeding and second offense D-U-I, in addition to failing to maintain insurance, and an open container in a motor vehicle. Eighteen year-old Tristin Larson was a passenger with Week in the car. Larson was arrested on an outstanding warrant in Hughes County. On top of the warrant arrest, Larson is being charged with ingesting or inhaling a substance to become intoxicated and ingestion of a controlled substance as a felony. Both men are facing charges for marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
