Pierre Regional Airport Enplanements Remain Steady In November

(KCCR) — Air travel at Pierre Regional Airport remains steady and strong going into the holiday season. Airport Liaison to the Pierre City Commission Jamie Huzienga says November enplanement numbers remain consistent with prior months…

“SkyWest continues their excellent performance at the Pierre Airport.  November had 1661 departing passengers which is 57% more than in 2018 and 45% higher than the five-year average, so they’re just really….The people are using it for sure.  So far we’re at 13,010 passenger enplanements through November.”
Huizenga says service to Denver was delayed some late in the month due to weather…

“We did have a couple of issues with weather to finish the month here and to start December, but I think we’re, we’re through all that.  If you were out at the airport the parking lot is full.  We actually had people parking on the north side of the parking lot in the grass now because there’s…we’re just filling that parking lot up; which we knew if we ever got the airport running up to its potential, we would get that and we’ve got money in the budget for 2020 to make some expansions.”
The projected annual enplanements for 2019 is 14,500 enplanements. SkyWest began service in Pierre to Denver in early April following California Pacific’s collapse one year ago.
