Pierre School Board Honored With Award Of Excellence From ASBSD

(KCCR) — The Pierre School Board was honored recently during the 2019 Associated School Boards of South Dakota School Administrators of South Dakota Joint Conference in Sioux Falls. Pierre School Superintendent Dr. Kelly Glodt says this year’s annual event was extra special for the Pierre School District and its School Board…

“Each year, the Associated School Boards names one school board to receive what they call the School Board Award of Excellence and it’s in recognition of excellence in school board governance, leadership and improving achievement for all students.  And while we all know how effective our school board is, how great our school board is and some of the accolades that they have received, now everybody knows, because the Pierre School District was awarded that this year.”
Glodt says it’s a well-deserved award…

“You know, I think sometimes we take for granted how fortunate we are to have such an effective school board and you can ask our administrators or other Superintendents around the state; I often mention how blessed I am to have the opportunity to work for such quality board and now they certainly received some recognition that they are rightfully deserve so.  A tremendous accomplishment for our school board and obviously very well deserved.”
Associated School Boards Executive Director Dr. Wade Pogany says the members of the Pierre School Board strive to enhance their knowledge of board work and put that knowledge to work in goal setting for the District which in turn enriches the education of students. In addition to a plaque, the board will receive a one-thousand dollar cash award provided by BankWest.
